In our latest Case Study, Window Security Solutions (WSS) highlights an installation at one of the United Kingdom’s esteemed universities. Our ever reliable Window Security Specialist, Artur, took the initial call and progressed the enquiry through to a successful conclusion.

As with many educational establishments, an evaluation of protection and security was undertaken. It was quickly identified that improvements were required to enhance existing measures, specifically through the addition of further physical security to office areas. While security was a prerequisite, the client also requested solutions that were aesthetically suitable and discreet in appearance. These design considerations were taken into account from the outset.
On this occasion, the installation was not straightforward. We specialise in bespoke security solutions tailored to each environment. The client initially considered electrically operated shutters, however the openings were not suitable. We also worked closely with the client to ensure best value, aligning the solution with both their budget and aspirations. All work was carried out in full compliance with Covid-19 protocols and risk assessments.
The University ultimately chose to proceed with eight insurance-approved retractable grilles. Retractable grilles are a popular security solution as they provide a strong physical and visual deterrent against vandals and thieves when a building is unoccupied. During working hours, the grilles fold away neatly, ensuring the space remains visually appealing and functional.

“The window grilles look good in an office/laboratory environment and don’t have an ‘industrial’ look. Our existing roller blinds are still useable as the grilles were installed in front of the blind mechanisms and take seconds to unlock. The install went smoothly, and the installers provided clear user instructions.”
