Hammerglass: The Versatile Unbreakable GlassGlass, a material which features in everyday life. The window you look out of, the mirror you look into, the building you stand in, the shop you’re browsing.
It’s an important component in architecture. A glass window can provide the perfect lighting, ventilation or view.
But the one, major flaw in glass is its vulnerability. Glass can be easily smashed, broken into, compromised – damaging the aesthetic of the building and allowing entry into a building to cause further damage.
This problem is eliminated with Hammerglass.
What is Hammerglass?
Hammerglass is a durable, clear poly-carbonate sheet which is 300 times stronger than normal glass and virtually unbreakable.
Hammerglass has a unique surface coating which is resistant to most chemicals and provides 99.96% UV protection to prevent clouding – a common issue with standard poly-carbonate and provides the same aesthetics as regular glass.
The Tech Bit:
- 300 times stronger than normal glass.
- Half the weight of regular glass.
- Improved abrasion resistance.
- Increased resistance against chemicals.
- 99.96% UV resistance.
- Higher gloss index than regular glass to ensure dirt and dust can be washed off in the rain.
- Self-extinguishing fire-retardant qualities.
- Tested, certified and includes warranties.
What Types of Hammerglass are available?
The true beauty of Hammerglass is that it is not just a standard pane of glass. The application possibilities for Hammerglass are never-ending.
Let’s start with the basics.
Hammerglass Single is a single pane of Hammerglass (it’s in the name), designed to be re-glazed into existing window frames.
This is particularly ideal for listed buildings as installation will not compromise the existing architecture of the building.
Hammerglass Insulate can come in double or triple glazing options. This can be made up in a glass of choice e.g. heat reducing, Low-E, laminated, privacy glass etc.
The Hammerglass Add-On System is installed over existing windows using a cold-rolled steel plate.
This is designed to complement existing glazing and offers a discrete alternative to roller shutters or grilles.
The steel profile has no leverage points, ensuring it cannot be pulled away in an attempted break-in.
Hammerglass Bullet Resistant
Hammerglass Ballistic Protection comprises unique, lightweight, bullet-resistant solutions in the higher protection classes BR4-NS and BR6-NS (No Splinter) and is mounted in stainless steel bullet-proof reinforced partitions for complete protection against ballistic attacks.
Hammerglass Explosion Protection
Hammerglass Explosion Protection offers a unique, explosion-resistant solution and is fitted with a steel frame which will hold the panes firmly in position in the event of a powerful explosion. Explosion protection panels are available in a number of different configurations and thicknesses depending on the required level of protection. H

Apart from windows, what else can Hammerglass be used for?
Hammerglass Balustrades offer a transparent or opaque safety solution for balconies, terraces, staircases, landings and walkways.
Clear, opal or colour-impregnating glass panels for lining facades, stairwells, corridor systems and balustrades. Panels can also be supplied with motif printing and backlighting.
Increase personal and public safety in environments such as prisons, psychiatric wards, sports facilities and changing rooms.
High-Value Display Cabinets
Hammerglass is used to complete bespoke counters, cabinets and display cases in stores to protect high-value items such as jewellery, technology, memorabilia etc. Take a look at this in action when thieves attempted a robbery at a watch-shop which had Hammerglass display cases.
Roof solutions are available for larger properties and individual private houses. The hardwearing and smooth silicon oxide surface ensures that dirt and dust are, in most cases, washed off the roof structure by the rain.
